Field Service Technician (Level 1) – Midland, TX

REPORTS TO:
District Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for field service activities including rig up, rig down, servicing, and repairing Stryker equipment on customer job sites. Maintains customer base by performing timely and competent service work.

Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • At all times operate in a safe and responsible manner ensuring your own personal safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Adhere and enforce company policies and safety standards.
  • Operate a forklift during rig up and rig down operations on customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and report any malfunctioning or damaged products. Become involved in determining the nature and scope of problem, recommend and coordinate repair, replacement, or corrective action.
  • Learn how to maintain equipment in the shop to reduce / eliminate down time on customer locations.
  • Make suggested repairs on equipment.
  • Clean and maintain Stryker-owned tooling and equipment.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 Years of Oilfield Experience is recommended but not required
  • A Basic understanding of mechanical systems that include pumps and plumbing.
  • A Basic understanding of both AC and DC electrical circuits.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to complete tasks independently as well as take initiative to learn.
  • Ability to complete field service orders (FSOs) and job safety analyses (JSAs) with little to no errors (upon completion of training)
  • Detail-oriented both in the field and on paper
  • English language fluency (written and oral)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to walk around field locations and shop facilities for extended periods.
  • Long periods of sitting in and/or operating a motor vehicle.
  • Consistent ability to work outside in the elements and sometimes challenging outdoor conditions.
  • Must have the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull.
  • Normal vision, with the aid of corrective lenses or devices as needed.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and other productivity equipment in the workplace.
